Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a Procurement Officer 1 based in Columbia, TN, to support the Department of Transportation's Business Solutions Section. You will handle routine purchasing, prepare requisitions, and manage purchase orders in Edison, ensuring compliance with state procurement policies and accurate documentation.

You will coordinate with district staff and vendors, track orders through payment, and help maintain audit-ready procurement records while delivering reliable vendor service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Associate's degree with two years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or a related field.
• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and four years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, transactional procurement activities to support the acquisition of materials, consumables, equipment, and contracted services for District and Region-based operations.
• Create and submit requisitions and purchase orders in Edison, ensuring compliance with TDOT procurement policies.
• Coordinate with Region and District staff, stockroom personnel, and garage personnel, to gather purchasing needs for timely work orders and repairs.
• Review and reconcile purchase orders and invoices, ensuring receipt of goods/services and alignment with procurement records.
• Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, verify delivery schedules, and resolve routine issues related to orders and invoicing.
