Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a Purchasing Agent for District Construction in Chipley, FL. The role supports procurement, budgeting, invoices, and reporting for the District Construction unit.

The successful candidate will manage bid processes, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with state purchasing rules, while contributing to project delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• Budget management and/or procurement of goods and services.
• Record and file management.
• Ability to listen to and understand the needs of internal and external customers; communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Acquires commodities and contractual services under bid threshold through informal quotes, proposals, and MFMP; acts as P-Card holder and as Requestor in state systems.
• Prepares and processes purchase orders using Ariba; ensures timely payment of invoices and maintenance of records.
• Provides budget information, maintains budgetary records, updates spreadsheets, and reconciles budget for the district.
• Coordinates competitive solicitations and procurement of goods and services; tracks project progress and prepares monthly status reports.
