Job description

Location: Remote. Greater Milwaukee metro area

Duration: 6 months

Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support the full vendor lifecycle for a leading organization. In this contract role, you’ll play a key part in managing vendor relationships, contracts, and sourcing activities across technology and telecom categories.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the full lifecycle of the procurement process for the Hardware (Server, Storage, Network, PC, Print, AV) & Telecommunications (wire & wireline) categories, such as business engagement, contract/quote development, negotiation, execution and post-signature management
  • Qualified candidate will be assigned some of categories above based on their experience.
  • Partner with and provide consultation to business partners, and functional area leadership identifying vendor management opportunities and initiatives supporting the balance of risk and maximization of the supplier value proposition
  • Contract Lifecycle Management - Assists in the overall evaluation, selection, transition and monitoring of contractual agreements
  • Vendor Risk Management - Manage the procurement process thru our Zip process to ensure that proper level of due diligence is performed in preventing and mitigating/managing risk by engaging appropriate stakeholders. Partner with client areas to develop tactics and strategies for vendor risk mitigation
  • Relationship Management - Assist the process of measuring and monitoring vendor performance, ensuring effective vendor relationships; partner with client areas to develop performance improvement plans, resolve vendor issues, develop contingency plans, and/or initiate disengagement, when appropriate
  • Help develop negotiation strategies using competitive bidding and cost analysis, lead/Co-lead negotiation efforts on new deals with cross-functional teams to achieve optimum results (i.e. costs, quality, terms).
  • Manages, minimizes and mitigates supply/contractual/regulatory risk using key functions where appropriate thru our Zip process (Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, Audit etc.)
  • Build strong working relationships with various cross functional groups across the enterprise, monitor partner satisfaction, and establish partner relationships to create synergies across accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting/Finance, MIS, Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant category management, strategic sourcing, and vendor management experience
  • Operational and/or procurement experience in technology (Software, SaaS, Cloud computing, etc.) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and effectively advise on strategic issues to senior and department management for potential actions and result
  • Proven ability to cultivate and manage relationships with key internal personnel at various levels of the organization, external clients, and vendors.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
