Position Overview
We are seekingProcurement Specialists – Level 1to support sourcing and procurement activities for elevator manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in procurement and sourcing within amanufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of supplier management, purchasing processes, ERP systems, cost analysis, and material availability.
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services while ensuringquality, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery. This role will work closely with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and other internal stakeholders to support production schedules and new product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard suppliers formechanical, electrical, electronic, and structural componentsused in elevator manufacturing.
- ManagePurchase Requisitions (PRs)and convert them intoPurchase Orders (POs)using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Source materials, components, and services while balancingcost, quality, lead time, and supplier capabilities.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to meetproduction requirements and new product development schedules.
- Monitor supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and purchase orders to minimize material shortages and production disruptions.
- Coordinate with logistics teams regardinginbound deliveries, transportation, and customs clearancewhen applicable.
- Investigate and resolve issues related todelivery delays, part shortages, quality discrepancies, and purchase order variances.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to support reliable supply and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implementcost-saving opportunitiesthrough value engineering, supplier consolidation, localization, and commercial negotiations.
- Support supplier negotiations related topricing, lead times, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identifyalternative materials, components, and supplierswhere appropriate.
- Support supplier development and qualification activities in coordination with engineering and quality teams.
- Analyze supplier cost structures and performcost breakdown and should-cost analysis.
- Participate in or supportsupplier audits and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, purchase orders, and related documentation in the ERP system.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, procurement, and supply chain processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experiencein sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
- Experience working in amanufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing processes, including supplier selection, purchasing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Hands-on experience withERP systems, preferably SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as:
- Fabrication
- Machining
- Casting
- Electronics manufacturing
- Knowledge ofshould-costing and cost breakdown analysis.
- Familiarity withsupplier audits and supplier performance management.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a100% onsite environment in Evendale, Ohio.
