Job summary

Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage purchasing for Ted’s Café and associated research themes. This role handles purchase requests, requisitions, renewals, and tracks expenditures while maintaining contract records.

You will coordinate with University Purchasing, Contracts, and Card Services to resolve issues, renew contracts, and generate reports.

Qualifications

• Experience with purchase orders, contracts, and vendor management.
• Familiarity with procurement codes and university purchasing procedures.
• Ability to coordinate renewals and contract records.

Responsibilities

• Process purchasing requests and submit requisitions in University systems.
• Manage annual renewals for the Institute (~45 per year).
• Track purchases from PO to payment and resolve issues.
• Advise requestors when a contract is required and enter requests into Contracts+.
• Maintain and track Beckman contracts and coordinate expirations.
• Resolve PO and invoicing issues with vendors, Card Services, and Purchasing.
• Review open POs and close orders, especially at fiscal year-end.
• Generate ad hoc purchasing and contract reports.
