Job summary

Teal Energi seeks a Procurement Manager to lead procurement and expediting for a major AI infrastructure project in the Central Texas area. You will own the procurement plan, supplier relationships, and schedule-driven materials such as long-lead equipment to support a multi-building data center campus.

The role requires 7+ years in procurement for complex projects, strong vendor management, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of procurement, purchasing, subcontracting, or expediting experience.
• Experience supporting construction, industrial, power, energy, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similarly complex projects.
• Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from RFQ/RFP through delivery and turnover.
• Strong experience with long-lead materials, equipment, vendor management, and expediting.
• Ability to understand how procurement activities impact construction sequencing and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plan, schedule, bid packages, bidder lists, and purchasing strategies.
• Lead procurement activities from RFQ/RFP through commercial evaluation, PO award, fabrication, expediting, logistics, delivery, and turnover.
• Prioritize long-lead materials and equipment including steel, insulated wall/roof systems, HVAC, BMS hardware, doors and elevator equipment.
• Coordinate technical bid evaluations and submittal requirements with Engineering, Quality, Construction, and Project Controls.
• Track procurement status, vendor commitments, submittals, fabrication, inspections, shipping, delivery, and documentation.
• Expedite vendors against on-site dates and identify schedule impacts early.
• Develop mitigation strategies for procurement delays and alternate sourcing.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight, warranties, payment terms, and other terms with delegated authority.
• Coordinate delivery windows, laydown, receiving inspections, material control, and shortage resolution.
• Maintain procurement logs, forecasts, and vendor performance for project closeout.
• Work with Construction and Project Controls to stay aligned with the project schedule.

Teal Energi is partnered with a company to hire a Procurement Manager to support a major AI infrastructure development that will deliver a large-scale, multi-building data center campus spanning thousands of acres with more than 500MW of planned power capacity in the Central Texas area. This large-scale, multi-building data center campus will require disciplined procurement, expediting, logistics, and vendor coordination to support an aggressive construction schedule.

We’re seeking a proven procurement professional with strong construction project experience to lead procurement and expediting for the buildings package, with a particular focus on long-lead, design-sensitive, and schedule-driving materials and equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement leader who understands how purchasing decisions directly impact construction schedules and enjoys working closely with Engineering, Construction, Quality, Project Controls, vendors, and field teams to keep critical materials moving.

Compensation includes:

• Straight-time pay for qualifying overtime hours
• Daily per diem for eligible candidates

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain the project procurement plan, procurement schedule, bid packages, bidder lists, and purchasing strategies.
• Lead procurement activities from RFQ/RFP through commercial evaluation, PO award, fabrication, expediting, logistics, delivery, and turnover.
• Prioritize and manage long-lead materials and equipment including secondary steel, insulated wall/roof systems, HVAC equipment, BMS hardware, doors/openings, plumbing equipment, and elevator equipment.
• Coordinate technical bid evaluations and submittal requirements with Engineering, Quality, Construction, and Project Controls prior to award and release.
• Track procurement status, vendor commitments, submittals, fabrication, inspections, shipping, delivery, receiving, and required documentation.
• Proactively expedite vendors against required‑on‑site dates and identify potential schedule impacts early.
• Develop mitigation strategies for procurement delays, including alternate sourcing, expediting efforts, and construction sequence adjustments.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight, warranties, payment terms, and other commercial terms within delegated authority.
• Coordinate delivery windows, laydown, receiving inspections, material control, preservation, and shortage/damage resolution with the field team.
• Maintain procurement logs, commitment forecasts, vendor performance records, and complete purchasing documentation for project closeout.
• Work closely with Construction and Project Controls to ensure procurement activities remain aligned with the overall project schedule.

What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of procurement, purchasing, subcontracting, or expediting experience
• Proven procurement experience supporting construction, industrial, power, energy, manufacturing, mission‑critical, or similarly complex projects
• Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from RFQ/RFP through delivery and turnover
• Strong experience with long‑lead materials, equipment, vendor management, and expediting
• Ability to understand how procurement activities impact construction sequencing and project schedules
• Experience with RFQs/RFPs, bid leveling, commercial evaluations, purchase orders, subcontract terms, and supplier performance
• Strong commercial judgment and experience negotiating pricing, lead times, freight, payment terms, warranties, and other commercial terms
• Experience coordinating with Engineering, Construction, Quality, Project Controls, and field teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Data center or other mission‑critical procurement experience preferred
• Procore and/or ERP procurement system experience preferred
• CPSM, CPM, or equivalent procurement credential preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, construction, engineering, or related field preferred
