Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with a strong background in data center construction and mission-critical infrastructure. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement of both Critical Infrastructure and IT Infrastructure for large-scale data center projects.
The ideal candidate understands long-lead equipment, supply chain risk, vendor relationships, and the unique challenges of hyperscale and colocation data center environments. This is a hands-on, on-site role that will work closely with owners, designers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement strategy for data center projects from preconstruction through commissioning
- Source, negotiate, and procure critical infrastructure, including but not limited to:
- UPS systems
- Generators
- Busway / Bus Bars
- CRAC & CRAH units (cooling systems)
- Support procurement of IT infrastructure in coordination with owner and project teams
- Manage vendor selection, RFPs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and purchase orders
- Track long-lead items, manufacturing schedules, and delivery timelines
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and procurement-related schedule impacts
- Collaborate closely with project management, construction, and commissioning teams
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, and key suppliers
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, technical specifications, and project requirements
- Support cost control, forecasting, and procurement reporting for owners
Qualifications
- 7+ years of procurement experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction
- Demonstrated experience sourcing UPS, generators, busway, and mechanical cooling systems
- Strong understanding of data center construction workflows and Owner’s Rep environments
- Proven ability to manage long-lead equipment and complex vendor negotiations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
- Competitive salary: $130,000 – $180,000, based on experience
