Job summary

Addison Group in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to establish purchasing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure on-time delivery of materials for electrical construction projects.

This full-time onsite role requires coordinating with accounting, operations, and field teams, with expansion of the procurement function as the company grows through acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply-chain experience.
• 1–2 years of leadership or management experience required.
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements, pricing, terms, and vendor contracts.
• Experience using an ERP or inventory-management platform; NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute purchasing strategies for electrical construction materials, equipment, tools, subcontracted services, and field supplies
• Identify qualified suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties, service expectations, and delivery schedules
• Manage purchase orders, requisitions, supplier agreements, and ongoing order tracking
• Lead competitive bidding activities, including RFQs and RFPs, for significant purchases
• Review vendor proposals and recommend awards based on pricing, quality, availability, service, and project requirements
• Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to address shortages, delivery delays, damaged materials, and quality concerns
• Monitor warehouse and job-site inventory to reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and unnecessary carrying costs
• Support the ERP implementation by helping establish procurement, purchasing, and inventory processes within the system
• Track commodity pricing, material availability, lead times, and other supply-chain conditions that could affect project budgets or schedules
• Provide estimating and project teams with current pricing and delivery information for bids and project planning
• Partner with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies, reconcile vendor statements, and maintain accurate job-cost information
• Identify opportunities to reduce expenses, consolidate suppliers, improve purchasing controls, and increase operational efficiency
• Confirm that purchased materials and equipment meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate supplier, contract, purchasing, and compliance records
• Develop scalable procurement policies and procedures to support future company growth
• Prepare to hire, train, and manage procurement employees as the department expands

Job Title: Procurement Manager

Location (City, State): Oklahoma City, OK

Assignment Type: Direct Hire - Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without assistance.

Pay: Target salary of $90,000-100,000.

Work Schedule: Full-time, onsite Monday through Friday, with reasonable flexibility for appointments

Our client is a growing electrical contractor that supports transmission, distribution, and other utility infrastructure projects. The company is known for its safety-focused culture, responsive field operations, high-quality service, and ability to mobilize quickly for projects throughout the region.

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to establish and lead purchasing, sourcing, inventory coordination, and vendor management for a growing electrical construction organization.

This newly created position will ensure that field teams receive the correct materials, equipment, tools, and services at competitive prices and within required project timelines. The Procurement Manager will work closely with Accounting, Operations, Project Management, Estimating, Warehouse personnel, and field leadership.

The role is currently an individual-contributor position within the Accounting organization; however, the procurement function is expected to expand as the company grows through acquisitions. The successful candidate should be comfortable building processes now and leading employees in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Five or more years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply-chain experience
• At least one to two years of leadership or management experience required, even if current direct reports are limited
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements, pricing, terms, and vendor contracts
• Background managing competitive bids and sourcing materials for project-based work
• Experience using an ERP, procurement, or inventory-management platform
• Ability to support ERP configuration, purchasing workflows, inventory setup, or system implementation
• NetSuite experience is strongly preferred but not required
• Utility, electrical, infrastructure, or heavy-construction procurement experience is highly desirable
• Understanding of electrical materials such as conductors, transformers, switchgear, conduit, and personal protective equipment is beneficial
• Strong knowledge of inventory planning, purchase-order management, job costing, and supplier performance
• Ability to manage several purchasing priorities across concurrent projects
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with executives, accounting teams, project managers, warehouse personnel, and field employees
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is highly preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel periodically to project sites, warehouses, and supplier locations
