UPS Industrial Services is seeking an Electrical Procurement Manager to join our safety conscious team in Hubbard, TX. The Electrical Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the procurement, sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management of electrical equipment and materials required for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. This role ensures timely delivery, cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and risk mitigation while supporting project schedules and commercial objectives. The Electrical Procurement Manager collaborates closely with engineering, construction, project management, logistics, and supplier organizations to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for electrical equipment, bulk materials, and subcontracted services.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, bidding, evaluation, negotiation, award, expediting, and closeout.
- Lead procurement activities for high-value electrical packages including:
- Power transformers
- Switchgear and motor control centers (MCCs)
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Electrical heat tracing systems
- UPS systems
- Cable and cable tray systems
- Lighting and grounding systems
- Instrumentation and control-related electrical components
Supplier and Contract Management
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, pricing, warranties, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Support contract administration, change management, and claims mitigation.
Project Execution
- Partner with engineering teams to review specifications, data sheets, drawings, and recommended vendor lists.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and milestones.
- Participate in project planning, kickoff meetings, and progress reviews.
- Coordinate with logistics and expediting teams to ensure timely material delivery.
Cost Management
- Develop procurement budgets and cost forecasts.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Analyze market trends, commodity fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
- Track and report procurement performance metrics.
Risk and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, ethical standards, and contractual requirements.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards and client specifications.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, inspections, and factory acceptance testing (FAT) activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Construction Managers, and Finance teams.
- Provide procurement status updates to project leadership and executive management.
- Support client‑facing procurement discussions and supplier meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of procurement Management experience,
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and industry standards.
- Experience negotiating complex supplier and subcontract agreements.
- Knowledge of procurement software, ERP systems, and contract management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large‑scale EPC projects exceeding $50 million in project value.
- Professional certifications such as:
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
- CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of international sourcing and global supply chain management.
