Position Summary
The Senior Logistics Channel Development Manager will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities across key logistics and transportation categories. This role is responsible for managing RFP/RFQ processes, negotiating competitive agreements, optimizing logistics spend, and ensuring supplier performance aligns with business and operational requirements. The position will partner closely with supply chain, logistics operations, finance, legal, and regional teams to support cost efficiency, service reliability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong logistics procurement expertise, analytical capability, and supplier relationship management experience in a global or regional supply chain environment.
We’re seeking a full‑time Senior Logistics Channel Development Manager for our Bellevue City‑based corporate office.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing activities for logistics and transportation categories, including supplier identification, RFP/RFQ development, bid management, commercial evaluation, award recommendation, and implementation.
- Manage competitive bidding processes for logistics services such as ocean freight, air freight, domestic transportation, cross‑border trucking, freight forwarding, warehousing, customs brokerage, drayage, 3PL, and other related supply chain services.
- Conduct detailed bid analysis, cost modeling, rate benchmarking, supplier capability assessments, and total cost of ownership evaluations to support sourcing decisions.
- Develop and present sourcing recommendations based on cost competitiveness, service capability, capacity, risk profile, operational performance, and alignment with business requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, capacity commitments, service‑level expectations, and contract compliance.
- Manage supplier relationships with regional and global logistics service providers, serving as a key point of contact for performance management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor supplier performance against key metrics, including on‑time delivery, service quality, responsiveness, cost performance, claims, compliance, and operational reliability.
- Partner cross‑functionally with supply chain, logistics operations, finance, legal, trade compliance, and regional business teams to ensure procurement strategies support operational and business objectives.
- Identify and execute cost‑saving and process improvement initiatives to optimize logistics spend, improve service levels, reduce operational risk, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Maintain accurate procurement data, including pricing records, rate cards, contracts, supplier information, bid documentation, savings tracking, and procurement reporting within relevant systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in logistics procurement, strategic sourcing, transportation procurement, supply chain management, or a related procurement function.
- Proven experience leading end‑to‑end sourcing projects, including RFP/RFQ execution, supplier evaluation, bid analysis, negotiation, contract award, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of logistics procurement categories, including freight forwarding, ocean freight, air freight, trucking, warehousing, customs brokerage, 3PL, parcel, or cross‑border transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze freight rates, pricing proposals, logistics cost structures, supplier performance data, and total cost of ownership.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners across functions and regions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, cost modeling, and financial analysis.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives, deadlines, and stakeholder priorities simultaneously.
- Professional proficiency in English is required; must be able to communicate effectively with global suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
- Willing to and able to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Requirements
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred to support communication with global suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Experience working with regional or global logistics suppliers in a multinational supply chain environment.
Pay: $125,000 - $175,000 max annually. Bonus offered.
