Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Procurement Intern - Summer 2027 located at Columbus General Office, York Operations Center, in Various/Negotiable, Nebraska. The intern will assist with procurement of materials and services, and provide clerical support to the district.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited college/university with a major in accounting, business, finance, management, or supply chain, and junior/senior status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units/credits or 8 quarter units with freshman, sophomore, junior or senior standing.
• Junior or senior status is preferred.
• Students enrolled in Associate Programs but planning on pursuing a bachelor's degree will be considered if proof of a 4-year plan can be demonstrated.
• The internship/training must be in the student's field of study.
• College credit may apply to some internships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the procurement of materials and services in a cost-effective manner.
• Provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the District.
• Coordinate procurement documents and ensure compliance with codes, standards, or commitments.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal customers and suppliers to support on-time delivery.
• Process invoices and maintain accounts payable records; verify financial data.
