Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Albany, GA, seeks a Procurement Forester to support the Albany Lumber sawmill and Hosford OSB mill. Based south of Albany, this role will report to the Wood & Fiber Supply Area Manager and partner with timber harvesters and landowners to secure pine for Albany Lumber and support nearby GP operations.

The position emphasizes evaluating wood opportunities, implementing sourcing strategies, building regional relationships, and ensuring compliant, well-documented transactions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate wood purchasing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Implement sourcing and pricing strategies pertaining to the procurement of wood and fiber for a manufacturing facility.
• Build mutually beneficial business relationships within operating areas.
• Assist in driving process improvements and presenting innovative solutions to recurring issues.
• Ensure all transactions are properly documented and managed.
• Monitor raw material acquisition, including administration, capital employed, transportation, inventories, quality, and wood cost.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Represent Wood & Fiber Supply and the facility operations on local and regional initiatives.
