Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Procurement Forester to support facilities in Gurdon and Fordyce, Arkansas. The role is office-based at either location, with an emphasis on driving wood purchasing opportunities and analytical decision-making.

Ideal candidates will combine forestry knowledge with procurement and supply chain experience, and reside within driving distance of the two facilities. This position is foundational to maintaining steady wood supply for manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR at least 1 year experience in Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate wood purchasing opportunities using analytical skills.
• Analyze datasets on timber pricing, delivery schedules, and market trends.
• Improve analytical processes and tools through automation and innovation.
• Implement sourcing and pricing strategies for wood and fiber.
• Build mutually beneficial relationships within operating areas.
• Drive process improvements and present innovative solutions.
• Ensure all transactions are properly documented and managed.
• Monitor and manage raw material acquisition including administration, inventories, and costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Represent Wood & Fiber Supply in local and regional initiatives.
