Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Procurement Forester to support our facilities in Gurdon and Fordyce, Arkansas. This office-based role requires proximity to either location and focuses on evaluating wood purchasing opportunities and applying pricing strategies to sustain our manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a degree in forestry or related experience in procurement or supply chain, with strong Excel skills and a willingness to develop automated processes, build supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR at least 1 year’s experience in Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate wood purchasing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Analyze datasets related to timber pricing, delivery schedules, and market trends to support informed decision-making.
• Continuously improve analytical processes and tools through automation and innovation.
• Implement sourcing and pricing strategies pertaining to the procurement of wood and fiber for manufacturing facilities.
• Work to build mutually beneficial business relationships within operating areas.
• Assist to drive process improvements and present innovative solutions to recurring issues.
• Ensure all transactions are properly documented and managed.
• Work in conjunction with W&FS team to monitor and manage all levels of raw material acquisition to include: administration, capital-employed, transportation, inventories, quality and wood cost.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Actively representing Wood & Fiber Supply and the facility operations on local and regional initiatives.
