Job summary

University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Finance professional to manage procurement and payment processing for Cal Performances and Student Musical Activities. You will help maintain financial controls, support budgets and monthly reporting, and assist with payroll entries through UCPath.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers UC benefits and potential for up to five remote work days per week within the United States, depending on department needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to gain working knowledge of University fund accounting policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with campus systems such as BFS general ledger and CalAnswers.
• Knowledge of professional services contracts, vendor purchasing contracts, and insurance requirements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills for interacting with managers and vendors.
• Ability to develop and deliver brief training sessions on financial systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Procurement and payment processing including PO requests, requisitions, and reimbursements.
• Coordinate with managers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Develop and maintain Finance Department procedures and provide staff training.
• Execute back end financial controls and daily reconciliation tasks.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and management reporting; support UCPath payroll entries.
