Overview

Manage all procurement functions, equipment repair and maintenance orders for a large research department and five smaller units, ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines, and procedures. Conduct research to identify best sources from contract and non-contract vendors to achieve optimal price, quality, availability, and delivery. Educate department members about purchasing resources and constraints. Coordinate approximately 7,000 purchasing transactions annually, maintaining accurate records and timely submissions to facilitate prompt vendor payments.

  • Inform and educate department members about purchasing resources and constraints.
  • Coordinate approximately 7,000 purchasing transactions annually with accurate records and timely submissions for prompt vendor payments.
Salary

The full salary range for the Procurement Analyst 2 is $27.63 to $47.55 per hour. The expected pay scale for this position is $27.63 to $32.61 per hour. Salary offers are based on education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other organizational needs.

Requirements
Educational Requirements

Degree: Bachelor\'s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Experience Requirements
  • 2 – 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience working with diverse clientele in a higher education institution.
  • Experience in research and laboratory-based operations with understanding of procurement for controlled substances and other hazardous chemicals and materials (preferred).
  • Experience using UC online systems (preferred).
Minimum Requirements
  • Analytical skills to evaluate quality and cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of basic contracts.
  • Working knowledge of the organization\'s departments and operations to meet procurement needs.
  • Proficiency with standard spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to research and analyze information to formulate and implement solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of ERP/financial systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Banner).
  • Knowledge of UC Purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment inventory procedures.
