Job summary

Ecotal in Austin, TX seeks a Procurement Engineer to support sourcing, purchasing, and management of materials essential to our facilities. You will bridge engineering and procurement, participate in supplier research, contract tracking, and PO processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience or exposure to procurement/supply chain is a plus.
• Internship or part-time experience in procurement, operations, or supply chain preferred.
• Familiarity with procurement software platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier research and vendor evaluation aligned with quality and reliability standards.
• Assist in managing supplier contracts and tracking key dates.
• Process purchase orders accurately and timely to meet budgets.
• Maintain records of purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and finance to forecast procurement needs.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Procurement Engineer to assist in the sourcing, purchasing, and management of products critical to the development and operation of their facilities. This role will support the Engineering team with supplier research, vendor outreach, contract tracking, purchase order processing, and record keeping. This role will sit at the intersection between engineering and procurement.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support supplier research and selection by identifying potential vendors and evaluating their alignment with our clients quality and reliability standards
• Assist in managing supplier contracts, tracking key dates, monitoring compliance, and helping to resolve issues as needed
• Process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring they align with budget requirements and departmental needs
• Maintain organized records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence
• Coordinate closely with engineering, R&D, and finance teams to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and documentation
• Other duties as assigned
