Teal Energi, based in Houston, TX, seeks a detail-oriented Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. You will develop supplier relationships, manage procurement activities, and support cost-effective sourcing strategies to meet project requirements.

The role collaborates with engineering, project management, finance, and operations to ensure materials and equipment are acquired efficiently while maintaining quality and delivery expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience identifying and qualifying new suppliers.
  • Demonstrated success building productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional short-notice domestic or international travel.
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to support current and future business requirements.
  • Conduct market research to uncover new sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Support supplier performance management by gathering and analyzing delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Participate in supplier assessments and assist with risk mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate supplier meetings and presentations to introduce new technologies, products, and capabilities.
  • Review purchase requisitions and prioritize procurement activities based on business needs.
  • Generate and manage purchasing reports using ERP systems.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations for materials and equipment.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure terms and conditions are accurate and aligned with company requirements.
  • Monitor supplier commitments and delivery schedules to support project timelines.
  • Partner with expediting teams to address critical orders and delivery concerns.
  • Support negotiations involving pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements.
  • Assist in driving cost reduction initiatives while maintaining supplier quality and service levels.
  • Collect and analyze data to support contract discussions and sourcing decisions.
  • Recommend opportunities for supplier consolidation and global sourcing optimization.
  • Work closely with engineering, project, operations, and finance teams to ensure procurement activities support business objectives.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and purchasing updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Track supplier non-conformance issues and assist with supplier recovery efforts.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and purchase order issues in partnership with suppliers and finance personnel.
  • Support supplier onboarding activities, including new vendor setup and maintenance of supplier records.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. What You'll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
