Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a procurement professional in Towson, MD to manage the full procurement process under the direction of the Purchasing and Materials Services Director. You will interact with vendors, maintain Oracle item masters, and prepare dashboards and reports.

Requirements include a Bachelors degree with at least two years in procurement/contract administration, strong MS Word/Excel and ERP skills, and an analytical mindset able to navigate contracts and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in procurement and contract administration.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and ERP software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor to interact with vendors and internal customers.
• Analytical ability to apply purchasing procedures to varied department needs.
• General understanding of contract terms, commercial law and risk mitigation.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when collecting and reviewing data, maintaining files, and preparing required reports.

Responsibilities

• Manages the procurement process as directed by the Purchasing and Materials Services Director, identifying reliable suppliers and negotiating favorable terms.
• Provides routine administrative support related to the Oracle procurement module.
• Maintains the item master in Oracle.
• Participates in the development of system dashboards and reports.
• Participates in special projects within the Purchasing Department.
