Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Lead Procurement Compliance & Process Improvement to ensure procurement activities adhere to FAR/DFARS, policies, and internal controls. You will drive efficiency while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

You will develop policies, oversee supplier onboarding, and support audits and regulatory reporting. Collaboration across business, legal, finance, IT, and procurement teams is essential, with opportunities to mentor staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of relevant experience in procurement, business operations, compliance, project management, or a related field.
• Experience in regulated environments with procurement, compliance, auditing, or government contracting requirements.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating across teams.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement compliance initiatives and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain procurement policies, templates, and guidance.
• Oversee supplier onboarding activities with stakeholders to implement improvements.
• Support internal and government procurement audits.
• Collaborate with business, legal, finance, IT, and procurement teams to implement compliant solutions.
• Train and advise procurement staff on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to communicate expectations and updates.
