Job summary

CesiumAstro, a satellite communications equipment developer, is seeking a Buyer I to support procurement for manufacturing and operations in Westminster, MD. You will process requisitions, issue POs, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in SCM, business administration, or related field.
• Experience with procurement, preferably electronics components.
• Familiarity with electronics manufacturers and distributors.
• Experience using ERP systems (Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
• Review requirements, quotations, delivery schedules and inventory for manufacturing objectives.
• Monitor open POs, supplier deliveries, and order status; resolve issues.
• Communicate with suppliers on orders, pricing, and delivery status.
• Maintain supplier information and procurement documentation.
• Support supplier performance reviews and procurement metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement with priorities.
• Communicate updates on purchasing and supplier constraints to stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement activities to support production schedules and commitments.
• Assist with process improvements to procurement efficiency.
• Maintain procurement records and reports.
