Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Review requirements, quotations, delivery schedules and inventory for manufacturing objectives.
  • Monitor open POs, supplier deliveries, and order status; resolve issues.
  • Communicate with suppliers on orders, pricing, and delivery status.
  • Maintain supplier information and procurement documentation.
  • Support supplier performance reviews and procurement metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement with priorities.
  • Communicate updates on purchasing and supplier constraints to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to support production schedules and commitments.
  • Assist with process improvements to procurement efficiency.
  • Maintain procurement records and reports.

In this position, you will support procurement operations by purchasing materials, equipment, and services that support manufacturing, production, and business operations. This role contributes to operational efficiency by coordinating procurement activities, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring materials and services are acquired in accordance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Working cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, manufacturing, engineering, quality, program management, and finance, this role supports procurement, supplier coordination, material availability, and purchasing activities while ensuring procurement actions align with operational priorities, production schedules, and business objectives.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services in accordance with established procurement procedures.
  • Review purchasing requirements, supplier quotations, delivery schedules, and inventory needs to support manufacturing and operational objectives.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, supplier deliveries, and order status while coordinating timely resolution of delivery or supply issues.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, pricing, and order status to support material availability.
  • Maintain supplier information, purchasing records, and procurement documentation to ensure accurate purchasing transactions.
  • Support supplier performance reviews by tracking delivery performance, quality concerns, and procurement metrics.
  • Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, manufacturing, engineering, quality, program management, and finance to support procurement priorities and operational objectives.
  • Communicate purchasing updates, supplier constraints, material shortages, and delivery impacts to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities that support production schedules, inventory objectives, and customer commitments.
  • Support implementation of procurement process improvements and operational initiatives that improve purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, purchase order records, supplier files, and purchasing reports in accordance with established procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes, supplier relationships, and overall supply chain performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • University or intern experience with procurement, preferably focused mainly of electronic components.
  • Familiarity with major electronics manufacturers and distributors.
  • Understanding of engineering design process; experience with PLM tools.
  • Experience using an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of procurement concepts, practices, and procedures, including purchasing, negotiation, commercial contracts, and cost breakdown.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to back up conclusions with data.
  • Time management skills, with ability to separate the important tasks from the noise.
  • Sense of urgency, with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to present concise data to internal and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Familiarity with component library management software.
  • Experience with consumables.
  • A/P reconciliation and management.
  • Logistics and export control.
  • Experience wearing multiple hats at a rapidly growing startup company.

$68,000 - $79,000 a year
