Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking an Associate Buyer to join our procurement team supporting government programs. The role offers hands-on experience in defining plans, processes, and tools for supply chain management and for ensuring chain of custody for government assets.

You will participate in researching cost-effective purchase arrangements, coordinate orders from placement to payment, review requisitions for clarity, and monitor supplier performance to meet terms and timelines.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and generally less than 2 years of work experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to communicate processes to customers with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel between local sites to coordinate activities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define plans, processes, methods, and tools for supply chain management and chain of custody for Government assets.
• Research and recommend cost effective purchase arrangements; support the Government’s purchase process.
• Coordinate delivery of purchases and manage hardware recapitalization, maintenance agreements, and software licensing.
• Review purchase requisitions for clarity, compliance, detail, completeness; obtain necessary information.
• Manage the procurement process from order placement through receipt and payment of invoices.
• Actively manage supplier performance and ensure adherence to PO terms; participate in invoice approval.
