Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Buyer to join the Shared Services Procurement organization. You will process purchase requests, issue RFQs, prepare purchase orders, and collaborate with internal customers to support procurement activities for programs across Leidos.

Ideal candidates have a degree in business or related field and strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with familiarity in FAR/DFARS and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with related experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with government contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS)
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related fields

Responsibilities

• Process routine purchase requests for materials, equipment, and services in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers, obtain pricing and delivery information, and assist in evaluating responses.
• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with internal customers.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders within purchasing authority and guidelines.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Assist with basic price analysis, supplier selection, and negotiations to support favorable terms.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation per policy and government contracting requirements.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on deliveries; resolve routine discrepancies.
• Collaborate with program teams and procurement professionals to support timely purchasing activities.
• Develop knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and FAR requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
• Escalate complex issues to senior buyers or management for guidance and resolution.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field

Four years of related professional experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
