Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Buyer to support our Huntsville, Alabama facility with procurement of components, machines and equipment. Telework option will be considered.

Primary responsibilities include negotiations, PO administration, price/cost analysis, supplier management and compliance with procurement policies. Typically requires a BA with 8–12 years’ experience or a Masters with 6–10 years; strong communication and CFR familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• BA degree required with 8–12 years of relevant experience or Masters with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service mentality.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Knowledge of government contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and negotiate favorable prices for complex procurements, including terms and schedules.
• Administer purchase orders and maintain files; close out procurement activities.
• Create solicitations, support proposals, perform price analyses and negotiate terms.
• Confer with suppliers to determine factors affecting prices and select lowest-cost options.
• Mentor and review work of other buyers; support audit activities and data requests.
• Develop or review prime contract flowdown documents to ensure compliance.
