Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a procurement professional to source technical and non-technical parts for operations and production, ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and scheduling targets are met.

The role requires reviewing requisitions, negotiating terms with suppliers, and managing PO approvals in line with government regulations and internal policies. A background in aerospace or manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a business management discipline with 3–5 years of experience, preferably with a mechanical and/or technical background in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent
  • Emphasis on procurement policies and programs
  • Strong background knowledge of aerospace vendors and products
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • For applicable positions involving US export-controlled technology, materials, software, or hardware: must be a US Person under ITAR or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license

Responsibilities

  • Procure technical and non-technical parts, materials, and supplies for operations and production while meeting cost, quality, quantity, delivery, and scheduling requirements
  • Review requisitions, verify accuracy and specifications, recommend substitutes, and negotiate lead times, prices, and delivery needs
  • Solicit and analyze quotations for new or non-standard items
  • Approve purchase orders within established authority and ensure compliance with government regulations and accepted trade practices
  • Process and resolve open or problem orders
  • Locate, identify, evaluate, and contact vendors based on cost, service, quality, and delivery
  • Place purchase orders and negotiate pricing, delivery methods, and schedules
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and production support
  • Process vendor adjustments including replacements, cancellations, credits, and returns, and ensure corrective action
  • Advise requisitioning departments on quotations, delivery terms, costs, quantity, and quality
  • Analyze market and vendor trends and recommend vendor, price, quantity, and delivery actions to the Materials Manager
  • Arrange and attend meetings between purchasing, vendors, and requisitioning departments
  • Administer minority or small business activities, conduct vendor interviews and site visits, and monitor vendor progress as needed
  • Attend trade shows and seminars and prepare government audits and forms as requested
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested
  • Comply with the company Code of Conduct and Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements
