Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced sourcing professional to lead work transfers for aerospace components. You will drive supplier development, negotiate pricing, and manage complex machine parts with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery.

This role requires significant travel across multiple regions and a strong track record in domestic aerospace supply chains. Responsibilities include deploying transfer tools, maintaining material specs, and leading program-level tracking while ensuring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience in a sourcing environment.
  • 7+ years in a sourcing role with negotiation involvement.
  • Experience with complex aerospace machine components and processes.
  • Established relationships with domestic aerospace suppliers.
  • Travel readiness for 25–30% travel.
  • US work authorization; ITAR considerations where applicable.

Job description

  • Lead deployment of work transfers using automated transfer tools, including Project Risk Assessments, Project Planning, and Buffer Stock Management
  • Maintain understanding of material specifications, processing, and treatment requirements related to work transfers
  • Serve as site focal point for resolving work transfer checklist questions and issues
  • Maintain a program-level work transfer tracker covering all parts in the work transfer
  • Ensure compliance with industry-leading standards, company policies, and ethical business practices
  • Maintain and update the Valencia ASL for new suppliers and required approvals
  • Achieve the lowest possible material cost while balancing quality and schedule requirements
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier proposals using negotiation, cost, and price analysis techniques
  • Raise FAIR purchase orders and subsequent purchase orders supporting batch production
  • Conduct market analysis and monitor supplier performance, capacity, and progress against business requirements
  • Cultivate strategic relationships across the supply chain
  • Coordinate supplier training and development to improve supplier performance
  • Lead domestic offload activities focused on complex machine parts
  • Leverage existing supplier relationships and develop new supplier sources across the Midwest, Southeast, Texas, and other emerging regions
  • Report functionally to the Site Purchasing Leader
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • At least 8 years of experience in a Sourcing environment
  • At least 7 years of experience in a Sourcing position, including negotiation involvement
  • Expertise managing complex machine components and aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Strong knowledge of material specifications, machining processes, special processes, and applicable industry standards
  • Established relationships with domestic aerospace machine suppliers required
  • Existing supplier relationships across the Midwest, Southeast, Texas, and other emerging manufacturing regions preferred
  • Experience with supplier development, qualification, performance management, and strategic sourcing
  • Experience negotiating pricing and evaluating supplier proposals using cost and price analysis techniques
  • Experience managing purchase orders, supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and production requirements
  • Knowledge of FAIRs, ASL management, NCRs, configuration control, and engineering drawing changes preferred
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain cost, quality, delivery, and capacity requirements
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Configuration Management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
  • Experience developing and training suppliers to support business initiatives and improve performance
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25–30%
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • For applicable positions, must be a U.S. Person under ITAR or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license
