Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced procurement leader in the United States to manage full life-cycle procurement for complex packages in aerospace/defense sectors. You will drive solicitation strategies, assess proposals, and negotiate terms while coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in Level 4 procurement, strong cost/price analysis skills, and deep ERP system experience (SAP/Oracle). Relocation support may be available; U.S.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of procurement/purchasing experience for Level 3; 10+ years for Level 4.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing programs.
  • Strong cost/price analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP; advanced Excel for Level 4.
  • Experience preparing procurement metrics and supplier scorecards.
  • Ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder procurements independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Level 4 knowledge of TINA, FAR/DFARS clauses, certified cost or pricing data, and government audit processes.
  • Level 4 experience developing and delivering training and coaching procurement staff.
  • U.S. Person status required under U.S. export control regulations.
  • Must live in the immediate area or relocate at own expense.
  • Employer will not sponsor employment visas.
  • Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, not required.
  • Not a safety-sensitive position; no security clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full life-cycle procurement for complex material, component, service, and tooling packages.
  • Develop solicitation strategies, evaluate proposals, negotiate terms, award contracts, and complete closeout.
  • Conduct cost and price analyses and document negotiation positions and results.
  • Negotiate commercial and government contracts while mitigating lead-time, quality, warranty, IP, and indemnity risks.
  • Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation, corrective actions, quality issues, delivery, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate engineering, quality, finance, planning, and program management stakeholders.
  • Prepare negotiation files, certified cost or pricing data submissions, SOWs, change orders, and audit documentation.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, dual sourcing, safety stock, and long-lead-buy plans.
  • Mentor and train procurement staff and provide subject-matter guidance.
  • Establish procurement standards, templates, and best practices for Level 4.
  • Lead continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Escalate high-impact procurement issues and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Consult with external customers and lead supplier performance teams for Level 4.
