Lake Forest College seeks a part-time Proctor in our Accessibility Services department to assist students with disabilities by providing an alternate testing location. Proctors distribute, monitor, and collect all test materials while maintaining confidentiality and exam integrity. Some students may require reading and writing assistance during testing.
Training is provided prior to proctoring. Exams range from 20 minutes to 6 hours; shifts vary, with preference for consistent days/times.

Accessibility Services proctors exams for students with disabilities who need an alternate/distortion‑reduced testing location (not the classroom). Proctors distribute, monitor, and collect all test materials while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the integrity of the testing process. Some students may need reading and writing assistance during testing.
Exams can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 6 hours (for final exams). Most test proctor shifts are several hours in length and consistent days/times of availability are preferred. The Testing Center is open during the academic year Monday‑Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, with additional hours during peak testing times throughout the semester. A training session is required prior to proctoring.
A college education is preferred. The ideal candidate would have prior experience in proctoring exams in the academic environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidates must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of students’ needs and test materials. Candidates must be punctual and professional in communication and interaction with students. Basic computer literacy and use of Microsoft Suite required.
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.
