Job summary

Precision Medicine Group in Frederick, Maryland is seeking a Processing Technician I to receive, inventory, and process fresh biological samples, including PBMCs and cryopreserved cells, and to support RNA/DNA extractions and related assays.

You will perform cell isolations, cryopreservation, counting, lab setup, and data collection using LIMS, while following aseptic technique and SOPs; teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic laboratory skills and be trained in aseptic technique.
• Requires good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills and ability to work well in a group environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inventory all incoming fresh biological samples into electronic LIMS database.
• Perform cell isolations and/or separate whole blood and body fluids into various components.
• Perform cryopreservation of all isolated cells.
• Prepare all reagents used in lab.
• Create and perform first key of data collection sheets.
• Perform cell thawing and counting.
• Order and inspect lab supplies.
• Respond to freezer alarms according to standard operating procedure.
