Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a Sanitation Associate for Egg Central Station (ECS) to clean and sanitize our manufacturing and production facility, materials, and processing equipment. You will work the full 12‑hour shift on a rotating schedule in a warehouse environment.

Shifts include Day Crew (7 am–7 pm) and Night Crew (7 pm–7 am). Benefits include health care, 401(k) with company contributions, PTO, free eggs, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • 1 year minimum sanitation or manufacturing experience.
  • English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Good manual dexterity and comfort operating tools.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Vital Farms policies, GMP procedures, and safety/ sanitation regulations.
  • Report conditions or practices that may affect food safety or quality.
  • Operate sanitation equipment and handle chemicals safely.
  • Clean spills and maintain cleanliness of processing areas, facilities, and break rooms.
  • Stock footbaths and hand-washing stations as part of GMP initiatives.
  • Manage egg washer water changes, CIP circuits, and assist in cleaning processing equipment.
  • Titrate chemicals and maintain levels on dispensing systems and CIP circuits.
  • Operate Egg Press equipment to handle egg waste per SOP.
  • Audit equipment and supplies and suggest replacements or reorders.
  • Operate lab equipment and perform timely tests to prevent downtime.

Sanitation Associate – Egg Central Station (ECS)

As a Sanitation Associate at Vital Farms, you will clean and sanitize our manufacturing and production facility, materials, and processing equipment. You’ll work the entire 12‑hour shift on a rotating schedule in a warehouse environment.

Shift Schedule
  • Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
  • Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
  • Shifts: 12‑hour shifts
    • Day Crew – 7 am to 7 pm
    • Night Crew – 7 pm to 7 am

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow Vital Farms policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices while meeting regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Report conditions or practices that may affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
  • Operate sanitation equipment and handle chemicals safely.
  • Clean spills and maintain cleanliness of processing areas, entrances, facilities, and break rooms.
  • Support GMP initiatives by cleaning and stocking footbaths and hand‑washing stations.
  • Manage egg washer water changes, run CIP circuits, and assist in cleaning processing equipment.
  • Titrate chemicals and maintain appropriate levels on mixing station dispensers, material washers, and CIP circuits.
  • Use Egg Press equipment to handle egg waste in accordance with SOP.
  • Audit equipment and supplies regularly and recommend replacements or reorders.
  • Operate lab equipment and perform testing promptly to prevent downtime.
  • Obtain certification to operate a scissor lift or pallet jack.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of sanitation or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
  • English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling tools and controls.
  • Comfortable working safely in an environment with moving mechanical parts and wet conditions.
  • Good math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
