Carpenter Technology is seeking an active engineering student for a part-time or cooperative education role in our Process Technology R&D team in Reading, PA. You will coordinate with suppliers, create CAD drawings and wiring diagrams, and assist with design, fabrication, and installation of mechanical and electrical systems.
The ideal candidate is technically capable, hands-on, and capable of applying creative problem-solving in an advanced manufacturing R&D environment.
Carpenter Technology has an immediate opportunity for an active engineering student to work closely with the Process Technology Research & Development team. This position may be structured as either a part-time role during the academic year or a cooperative education assignment.
Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers and vendors to procure equipment, services, and components; creating CAD drawings and wiring diagrams for engineering documentation systems; and assisting with the design, fabrication, and installation of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with creativity, practical problem-solving skills, and demonstrated hands-on experience.
This role offers valuable exposure to real-world engineering projects and advanced manufacturing technology within an R&D environment.
Candidates must be enrolled in a 4-year bachelors degree program pursuing a degree in Engineering.
Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
Candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder due to Carpenter's government contracts.
