Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Technician I- Process (Implant/Diffusion) to certify and train production operators and assist in improving manufacturing efficiency. You will operate production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and collect data while collaborating with engineers on corrective actions.

Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing is a plus, with a HS diploma or GED required and AS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AS preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedures.
• Strong communication and documentation-writing skills.
• Experience with data analysis and SPC concepts is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Certify and assist in training production operators
• Assist management with improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes
• Make decisions on production holds to disposition lots in a timely manner
• Operate production equipment as required
• Initiate, perform, and implement corrective action towards resolving process and equipment problems
• Perform daily routine checks and qualifications on equipment
• Perform designated machine calibrations
• Troubleshoot out of control tool and product issues
• Write and/or modify operating specifications
• Write reports to assist in the recommendation of process or equipment changes
• Write regular progress reports
• Work with engineers to generate OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) documents
• Document new and edited recipes
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data
• Work with Document Control to update equipment procedures as needed
• Generate a detailed passdown for the oncoming shifts and engineers
• Perform tasks as directed by engineers
• Document experiment results
