Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Process Technician to support high-velocity manufacturing in Colorado Springs. The role performs technical tests, sets up processing equipment and monitors operations to assist line operators in a busy electronics environment.

You will compile processing data into reports, prepare charts for engineering review, and provide technical assistance to process development and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• GED or Equivalent required.
• 1+ years’ experience as process or engineering technician in an electronics or semiconductor manufacturing role.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

Responsibilities

• Program tools to run processes for engineering tests.
• Document routine practices and update operating procedures as improvements are made.
• Compile processing data into standardized reports to share with technicians and engineers and identify issues.
• Train operators on standard operations across multiple process steps.
• Assist Process and R&D Engineers in engineering evaluation and/or troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
• Work closely with production to improve manufacturing and engineering processes by: Responding to tool alarms with an understanding of the root cause to ensure successful processing. Disposition non-conforming production material. Manage engineering tests through the entire process flow. Assist with investigation for low yielding lots to identify root cause and corrective actions. Monitoring and operating equipment in accordance with operational procedures, in depth understanding of each process step.

Our customers have worldwide locations and are serviced from our manufacturing locations in Colorado Springs. Semtech is seeking a Process Technician for manufacturing support in a high tech, high volume, small company environment. The process technician will support advanced packaging of wafer and die level silicon products.

Job Summary

Process Technician: Performs technical tests and experiments for process engineering within R&D. Performs set up of processing equipment. Monitors, audits and provides guidance to line operators. Processes test runs and prepares records, charts, and graphs of results for presentation to engineering to identify yield problems or test new products. Provides technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

• GED or Equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience as process or engineering technician in an electronics or semiconductor manufacturing role
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

Desired Qualifications

• An associate’s degree in math, engineering or related field is strongly preferred
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as process or engineering technician in an electronics or semiconductor manufacturing industry
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
