Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician in Garland, TX to operate extrusion and blow-molding equipment for producing plastic containers. This role works a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts in a climate-controlled facility, with emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing production.
• Familiarity with extrusion or blow molding equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics & basic electrical mechanics helpful.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. alone or 70 lbs. with a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion and blow-m molding equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
• Monitor and adjust process settings to produce high-quality containers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Perform quality checks to ensure bottle weights and dimensions meet specifications.
• Collaborate with the team to identify improvements for safety, reliability and scrap reduction.

As a Production Technician, you operate equipment to manufacture plastic containers for leading consumer brands. Schedule

You Have Ability to work the following schedule: 6:45 pm - 7:15 am on a cycle of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, repeat. This equates to 2 weekends per month off with a 3-day weekend.

Responsibilities

• You Will Operate a variety of top-of-the-line extrusion & blow-molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe & climate-controlled environment
• Monitor equipment, making adjustments to settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure, etc.) to produce high-quality rigid plastic containers
• Troubleshoot equipment & perform routine preventative maintenance
• Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights & dimensions
• Join with your team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality & scrap reduction

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician working with equipment used for high-volume production
• Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
• Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 70 lbs. with a team lift, with or without a reasonable accommodation
