Job summary

OxyChem seeks a PSM Engineer for the Battleground Plant in LaPorte, Texas. You will manage Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plan, and Responsible Care programs, aligning with OCC and OVLP expectations.

You will develop annual activity plans, report progress to site leadership and corporate teams, and coordinate external contract services. This role requires 5–10 years in plant engineering and strong safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of plant process, maintenance, or project engineering experience.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, RMP, Responsible Care, and company process-safety standards.
• Able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs; wear PPE including respirator.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environment, health and safety as the top priority.
• Promote a respectful, supportive work environment.
• Maintain and improve PSM, RMP, and RC programs at Battleground Plant.
• Develop and issue annual PSM, RMP, and RC activity plan.
• Provide ongoing reporting on program status to plant management and corporate, including monthly updates.
• Develop, update, and track action plans for PSM, RMP, RC tasks.
• Arrange contract services for PSM, RMP, RC activities.
• Communicate employee concerns to supervision and management.
• Develop, review, and maintain PSM, RMP, RC procedures and guidelines.
• Perform formal and informal audits of PSM, RMP, RC elements.
• Coordinate HES Risk Engineering and Insurance activities.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and standards.
• Provide guidance in electrical systems and mechanical integrity.
