Job summary

OxyChem in La Porte, TX seeks an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead the maintenance function at Battleground Plant. You will drive safety, reliability, and cost-control while directing planning, scheduling, and capital projects alignment with plant goals.

Responsibilities include coordinating multi-discipline maintenance, applying Maintenance Excellence processes, and mentoring staff; you will partner with engineering, vendors, and safety programs to ensure uptime and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required and 5+ years of maintenance/manufacturing experience with supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage costs and optimize maintenance performance with formal systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays and respond to non-routine callouts.

Responsibilities

• Make routine decisions on maintenance activities, staffing, and repair methods.
• Develop programs to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability, and costs.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance to support turnarounds.
• Lead maintenance planning and scheduling and manage budget expenditures.
• Collaborate with engineering and vendors to execute capital projects and safety initiatives.
