Job summary

Sun Chemical, a member of the DIC Group, is seeking a Process Safety Engineer II for North America to join our Group Engineering team and drive process safety, risk reduction, and operational excellence across our North American manufacturing sites.

You will lead PSM activities, identify safety improvements, and manage safety-related capital projects from concept through startup while collaborating with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of experience in process or project engineering within the chemical industry.
• Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA, API RP 520/521, AutoCAD, P&IDs, and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including PHAs, risk assessments, PSSRs, and hazard reviews.
• Identify and implement safety, reliability, and process improvement solutions.
• Manage safety-related capital projects from concept through startup.
• Conduct HAZOPs, support Management of Change (MOC), and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Procurement, and external partners.
• Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
