Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation, a leader in packaging and graphic solutions, is seeking a Process Safety Engineer II for North America. Join our Group Engineering team to drive process safety, risk reduction, and operational excellence across North American sites.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 5+ years in process or project engineering, and strong PSM experience. You will lead PHAs, MSAs, capital projects, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with Operations, EHS,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in process or project engineering within the chemical industry.
Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
Knowledge of NFPA, API RP 520/521, AutoCAD, P&IDs, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

Lead PSM activities, including PHAs, risk assessments, PSSRs, and hazard reviews.
Identify and implement safety, reliability, and process improvement solutions.
Manage safety-related capital projects from concept through startup.
Conduct HAZOPs, support Management of Change (MOC), and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Procurement, and external partners.
Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
