Job summary

TC Energy's Houston-based Process Safety team is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to provide regional process safety support to operations and field safety teams. Based in Houston, the role focuses on developing and implementing process safety programs and strengthening safety culture.

You will engage with frontline operations, manage risk, participate in PHAs and MOC processes, and support incident investigations and regulatory submissions. Travel up to 30% is expected with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in engineering.
• Registered or eligible to register with APEGA as a P.Eng.
• 4 years of pipelines, oil & gas or petrochemical experience.
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams and related safety documents.
• Familiarity with risk scenarios, probabilities and consequences.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (PSM, RMP, CSA, API, NFPA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for process safety, risk management, and operations.
• Engage frontline operations to identify process safety concerns and prioritize actions.
• Maintain enterprise process safety procedures including MOC, PSSR, and safety reviews.
• Assist with training and interpretation of enterprise process safety programs.
• Support PHAs, design reviews, and stage-gate reviews for regional projects.
• Review incidents and assist classification of process safety events and lessons learned.
• Monitor regional PS performance and support assurance activities.
• Support regulatory submissions and information requests.
