Job summary

Bakelite in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a Process Project Engineer to define, plan, lead and execute key process assignments. You will collaborate with site personnel to deliver safe, reliable processing solutions and provide engineering services across operations, maintenance, and R&D.

You will analyze process data, perform troubleshooting, manage capital plans, and lead design packages, stage-gate reviews, and cost estimates with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in chemical process industries.
• Strong knowledge of chemical plant design and safety practices.
• ERP systems experience, preferably SAP.
• Proficient with Microsoft tools and SharePoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 35-40%.

Responsibilities

• Define, plan, lead and execute key process assignments.
• Collaborate with site personnel to provide process engineering services.
• Provide insights from analysis of process data and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Participate in or lead process risk/hazard reviews and incident analysis.
• Participate in management of change and capital plan execution.
• Define design packages and manage internal/external engineering services.
• Prepare cost estimates for site assets and facilitate stage-gate reviews.
• Obtain financial approvals and support reliability reviews.
