Job summary

Bakelite Synthetics in Eugene, Oregon, seeks a Process Project Engineer to define, plan and execute key engineering assignments. You’ll collaborate with site teams to provide process engineering services and lead risk reviews, incident analysis and change management.

You will develop design packages, manage external services, and prepare cost estimates for site assets while ensuring safety and reliability in our chemical processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years in Chemical Process Industries as process or project engineer.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process plant design and operation, including safety and relief systems.
• Willingness to travel 35-40% and commute to site as needed.

Responsibilities

• Define, plan, lead and execute key non-capital and capital assignments.
• Provide process engineering services in collaboration with site personnel and technical resources.
• Analyze process data, troubleshoot and support operations, maintenance, engineering, or R&D.
• Define conceptual to detailed design packages and manage internal/external services for funding or construction.
• Prepare cost estimates for site assets and facilitate project stage gate reviews.
