Job summary

Bakelite Synthetics seeks a Production Engineer to lead site production optimization, safety, and cost initiatives. You will direct the production team to ensure safe, on-time, quality manufacturing at a competitive cost, while driving improvements across processes.

The role requires 2+ years in plant engineering, a chemical/mechanical engineering degree, and familiarity with Six Sigma tools. Home base is a site-focused manufacturing environment with strong emphasis on safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Requires at least 2 years in plant engineering or production in chemical processing or similar industries.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Incuity Process Control.
• Customer-focused with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead production organization to maximize safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Oversee process optimization for Hexamine, Formaldehyde, and Aqua ammonia.
• Develop and train site personnel; act as Incident Commander in emergencies.
• Assist in capital projects and site safety, environmental, and regulatory programs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to prioritize work and outages; support data-driven improvements.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve quality and productivity.
