Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering and 5 years’ experience in Chemical Process Industries as process or project engineer.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process plant design and operation involving flammable liquids and gases, dust, toxic or reactive materials, pressure relief systems, and instrumented safety.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Knowledge of MS tools including databases and SharePoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 35-40%.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe, predictable, and reliable processes.
• Apply and define standard engineering design practices.
• Participate in or lead process risk/hazard reviews.
• Participate in or lead incident review and root cause analysis.
• Participate in management of change.
• Assist in definition and execution of the capital plan.
• Define conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design packages, including process control functional descriptions.
• Manage internal and external engineering services used to prepare preliminary or detailed project packages for funding submission or construction.
• Prepare cost estimates for new or modified site assets.
• Facilitate and lead project stage gate reviews.
• Obtain financial approval for assigned projects
• Facilitate reliability reviews when needed.
• Select preferred equipment or contract services through bid analysis
• Provide peer review and recommended practices.
• Complete regular status reporting and work prioritization.
