Minerals Technologies Inc. (MTI) is seeking a Process & Manufacturing Support Engineering Intern in Canaan, CT.

The intern will assist in developing and maintaining applications to control the manufacturing process and help implement initiatives to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and productivity while minimizing maintenance costs. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, process optimization, and the creation of engineering diagrams, specifications, and documentation.

• Familiar with standard chemical plant unit operations.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; strong spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to read, understand and generate engineering drawings and documents (P&ID, PFD, mass/energy balances).

Responsabilidades

• Process troubleshooting and optimization; support plants by identifying problems and implementing solutions.
• Develops engineering flow diagrams, P&ID, PFD, and mass/energy balances for existing and new processes.
• Compile and maintain basis of design information.
• Identify technologies and equipment for upgrading processes.
• Develop new processes for manufacturing of new or improved products.
• Gather and correlate data for product/process development, scale-up and troubleshooting.
• Develop equipment specifications and perform technical due diligence.
• Configure, commission, and troubleshoot process instrumentation and equipment.
• Create deliverable control system documentation.
• Explore new technologies to enhance maintenance diagnostics.
• Develop best practices and participate in Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen).
