Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. (MTI) seeks a Process & Manufacturing Support Engineering Intern to help develop and maintain applications that control the manufacturing process at our Canaan, CT site.

You will participate in initiatives to maximize equipment availability and reliability, while building foundational engineering skills. The internship emphasizes hands-on project work, development of best practices, and exposure to safety procedures and continuous improvement methods like 5S, Kaizen,

Qualifications

• Engineering principles knowledge and project experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Self-motivated with good organization and detail orientation.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Familiar with plant operations and basic process concepts.
• Experience reading P&IDs and mass/energy balances is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining applications to control manufacturing processes.
• Support initiatives to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings and documentation.
• Identify technologies and equipment to upgrade existing processes.
• Gather and analyze data for product and process development and troubleshooting.
• Prepare equipment specifications and assist in due diligence and bids.
• Recommend instrumentation configurations and assist in commissioning.
