Minerals Technologies has an opening for a Process & Manufacturing Support Engineering Intern in Canaan, CT. The intern will help develop and maintain applications to control the manufacturing process.

Help develop and implement various initiatives to maximize equipment availability, reliability, productivity, and minimize operational maintenance costs. Under supervision, you will perform process troubleshooting, develop flow diagrams, and gather data for product and process development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Familiar with chemical plant unit operations.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office and spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to read and generate P&IDs, PFDs and related docs.

Responsabilités

• Process troubleshooting and optimization in existing plants.
• Develop process diagrams, flow diagrams and mass/energy balances.
• Assemble and maintain basis of design information.
• Identify technologies and equipment for process upgrades.
• Develop new processes for new or improved products.
• Collect and analyze data for scale-up, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Create equipment specifications and participate in risk assessments.
• Configure and troubleshoot equipment and electrical connections.
• Produce control system documentation and seek improvements.
