Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Business Process Consultant to support Department Directors and the Department Executive Team. The role provides consulting to process leaders, analyzes data, and presents alternatives to resolve business and technical issues across planning, performance measurement, and change management.

Ideal candidates will lead process improvement teams, develop plans, facilitate stakeholder communications, and drive data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of business strategies, objectives, planning, development and management processes and process improvement.
• Knowledge of performance measures.
• Knowledge of applicable City of Austin, state and federal statutes, ordinances and codes.
• Knowledge of research methodologies, cost/benefit, analysis, statistics and financial models.
• Skill in communication in multiple formats (print, electronic, presentations, telephone).
• Skill in providing internal consulting services.
• Skill in project management methods.

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple process improvement teams and develops project work plans.
• Facilitates stakeholder analysis and communication plans for process improvement teams.
• Collects data and conducts analyses to inform recommendations.
• Advises on organizational change and leverages appropriate talent.
• Sets and tracks key performance measures and targets for processes.
• Develops and enhances models and methodologies for the department.
• Communicates project information to all levels of the organization.
