Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a results-driven Process Engineer to lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives across design and manufacturing. You will guide project teams, execute RIE/DBS events, and apply data-driven methods to improve safety, quality, cost, and schedule on submarine programs.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with 2–5 years post-graduate experience, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills. DOE, Kaizen, and Teamcenter experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• 2-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience required.
• Preferred: Green Belt/Black Belt and Lean, Kaizen, or Toyota Production Systems experience.
• Familiarity with NX/Teamcenter functionality is a plus.
• Ability to lead rapid improvement events and manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and improvement events (RIE/DBS) to improve safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Perform data analysis to determine production costs and the effects of design changes.
• Analyze statistical data to set quality and reliability objectives.
• Mentor and support teams in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Provide project status updates and remove barriers to success.
• Develop project charters, statements of work, and milestones.
