Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Work Center design and execution for Columbia construction, and to promote continuous improvement across departments.

You'll partner with Design Build, Operations, and Ship's Management to optimize layouts, develop standard playbooks, and apply Lean/Six Sigma methods to reduce lead times and costs while ensuring on-time delivery. On-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science (or Masters) in Engineering, completion expected May 2027
• 0-5 years in manufacturing, production, or construction site on the production floor
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel

Responsibilities

• Partner with Design Build, Operations and Ship's Management to optimize the build plan and center layouts
• Facilitate creation of Work Center playbooks with applicable Trades and Operations Leadership
• Lead refinement of work scopes with Detail Planning and Advance Planning
• Socialize with multiple organizations during Work Center design and development
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement at Electric Boat
• Assist in implementing Lean and Six Sigma projects to reduce costs and lead times
